CALL FOR SESSION PROPOSALS

Deadline for submission: Friday 2 October 2026

The Scientific Commitee (SC) invites you to submit session proposal(s) to the Scientific Spring Meeting KNVM NVMM 2027. The SC will evaluate proposals based on their scientific merit, relevance, novelty and the breadth of the chosen topic. The committee may request modifications to the proposed session.

Session format
Each session is 1 hour and 15 minutes long. Possible formats include:

  • Two 30-minute lectures and one 15-minute lecture
  • One 30-minute lecture and three 15-minute lectures
  • Four 18-minute lectures

You are free to design the session as you see fit. It is not required to reserve a slot for submitted abstracts. You may fill the entire program; however, it is appreciated if you include one or more presentations by PhD candidates or medical residents and aim for gender balance among speakers.

Individual submissions

The SC will select from the submitted proposals. We encourage collaborative submissions, preferably involving colleagues from outside your own institution. Interdepartmental and inter-institutional collaboration will increase the likelihood of selection. Please ensure that your proposal maintains a clear scientific focus.

Submissions by sections
Sessions proposed by sections of both associations will receive extra consideration. However, no slots are pre-reserved for any section or group. If a section wishes to organize a session, a sufficiently detailed proposal must be submitted. Joint submissions with other sections are encouraged to enhance the chances of inclusion in the program.

Please include the following in your proposal:

  1. English theme/title of the session
  2. Speakers – maximum of four. For each speaker, indicate their role and (if known) whether they are a member of the KNVM and/or NVMM
  3. English working title/subject of each speaker’s presentation

Compensation for Speakers, Chairpersons & Session Organizers

A limited budget is available for international speakers. Travel expenses (economy class), hotel costs (at Papendal), and registration fees (for two days) will be reimbursed for one European speaker per session.

In addition, travel expenses (€0.21/km or 1st class train ticket) and a one-day registration fee will be reimbursed for one Dutch speaker who is not a member of the KNVM and/or NVMM.

No compensation is available for other speakers.

Please note:

KNVM/NVMM members are expected to register and pay for the conference themselves (unless they are giving a presentation). Chairpersons and session organizers must also register and pay via the standard registration process.

Deadline for submission: Friday 2 October 2026
