The Scientific spring meeting is organized by the Dutch Society of Medical Microbiology (NVMM) and the Royal Dutch Society of Microbiology (KNVM).

Accreditation

The Scientific Spring Meeting KNVM & NVMM 2018 will be accredited for MMM and by the NVMM.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

The abstract will be judged on following guidelines. Please read carefully before writing your abstract.

Please submit the abstract in the English language. The language during all scientific sessions will be English, unless stated otherwise.

  1. Please ask, if possible, a native English speaking person to review your abstract.
  2. The following items have to be covered in the abstract:
  3. Introduction: describe research background, the working definition and/or hypothesis.
  4. Methods: applied methods, including number of micro organisms and/or patients.
  5. Results: please present a summary of the most important results based on sufficient quantitative and statistical data. Statements like “to be completed” will not be accepted.
  6. Conclusion: please present a conclusion based on the results. Statements like “the results will be discussed” will not be accepted. Please number the conclusions.
  7. All abbreviations have to be written in full and explained upon first use.
  8. Format:
  9. Title: maximum 25 words, provide a short clear title reflecting the content of the abstract, no abbreviations in the title. Use generic names only, no commercial names.
  10. Abstract: maximum 500 words excluding title, authors and affiliations.

Please note: it’s NOT allowed to include images in your abstract.

Submission deadline is Sunday 14 January 2018.

Abstracts, submitted after 14 January 2018, will NOT be accepted.

Latest 1 March 2018 the author will receive notification of acceptance.

Grant “Antonie van Leeuwenhoek Stichting”

The “Antonie van Leeuwenhoek Stichting” supports PhD-students and AIOS’ to attend the spring meeting and therefore they will sponsor the hotel costs (Tuesday 27 March, Hotel Van der Valk, 2 persons per room) for presenting PhD-students or AIOS (poster or oral, presenting authors only). Please indicate, when registering, whether you would need a hotel room and provide the name of your roommate. There is only a limited number of rooms available at the Van der Valk Hotel. Reservations are accepted on first-come-first-serve basis.

Hotel accommodation

Hotel accommodation is available in Papendal Hotel en Conference Centre: Hotel “Brons” ***

and Hotel “Zilver” **** and Best Western Plus Hotel Haarhuis.

Reservations will be accepted on first-come-first-serve.

For presenting PhD-students and AIOS a limited number of hotel rooms have been reserved in Hotel Van der Valk (2 presenting students per room).

 

PLEASE NOTE that, to prevent mistakes, it is no longer possible to make a hotel reservation for Monday evening together with your conference registration (rooms are only offered for Tuesday night).

Payment

Payment is only possible by iDeal.

 

Cancellation

Cancellations and refund requests must be submitted via e-mail to the congress secretariat. Cancellations made before 15 February 2018 will be refunded less Euro 50 to administration costs. All refunds will be made after the congress.
